Rick caught the blooming forsythia in front of our beautiful Amish Farm view last spring and presented it to us framed.  This year the group saw “Funny Girl” at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater.  Looking forward to “Oklahoma” from June 18th to August 1st.  Great breakfast conversations…thanks Lucille, John, Rick, Diane, Carol and Rich…see you next year if not sooner.

Last year’s Poole Forge Park Days winner of the Breakfast for Six at The Churchtown Inn was won by Mary Martin.  Bringing six members of her family, including her grandaughter, the group enjoyed a beautiful spring morning eating in our lovely Garden Room.  Marian got point out that our Koi Pond and Landscaping, was built and designed by her son, Jeremy Martin. The pond and gardens add a special serenity to our Amish Farmland Views.

As many of you have received our April 2nd email, you will note the similarity in theme going on here at the Inn! This sign was a big surprise gift to us from our young 11 year old Amish helper.  He likes working outdoors and is helping us get our gardens ready  for planting.  We planted this sign and some pansies yesterday.  Our next venture is to empty out and clean the pond!  (Arlen is excited!)  Enjoyed my kitchen prep this weekend while chatting with Mary R.   Thanks, Mary, for making my work go quickly!

An extra special Easter

Posted on: April 7, 2015 at 2:09 pm, in

We spent a delightful Easter with our guests. Easter Egg dying took on new meaning this year!   We received seven dozen new “spring chick” brown eggs and needed to think “Outside the Box.” Grand daughter Julia and Mom Mom Chris searched and searched and found Gold Aztec style tattoos; don’t you think they could be on “Pinterest”?  Dinner at Lily’s on Main shared with Maureen and John was extra special as we were able sit with our guests and eat a meal  that someone else prepared! Thanks Steve eggsand company at Lily’s.  And thanks Julia and Andrew for helping with Easter Breakfast!
