Our heritage is a typical “Heinz 57” variety American. However, if, like us, you have any Irish blood in you, you know it! And we do. We both can recite “Irish Uncle, Irish Grandmother, or Irish Auntie” stories from our pasts. And best of all, we remember the special Irish “goodies” that magically appeared on our tables in March! Jim tells everyone about his grandmother wrapping her Irish Soda Bread up in a “Tea Towel” and storing it that way until it was all gone. Chris remembers her mother making Corn Beef and Cabbage and Irish Stew. And, of course, growing up in the Philadelphia, famous for candy manufacturing, the delicious cinnamon covered “Irish Potato” candy was available for sale pretty much everywhere. See this month’s article, A Philadelphia Tradition to read about Irish Potatoes. So, if you have a hankering for Soda Bread, Irish Potatoes, and/or Irish Coffee, and an Irish Breakfast (or a facsimile thereof on the breakfast), come and spend a night with us this March. There will be a little pot of gold for you to take home with you.
